Tekken X Street Fighter è un progetto a lungo termine, parola di Harada

Katsuhiro Harada ha dichiarato che i lavori per Tekken X Street Fighter proseguono, e che Namco e Capcom ritengono il prodotto "un progetto a lungo termine".
"Abbiamo già creato qualche risorsa e un po' di materiale" ha rivelato Harada. "È che semplicemente stiamo guardando le circostanze e la direzione che gli utenti stanno prendendo, quale piattaforma, dal momento che ci sono dei cambiamenti sul mercato. Sto pensando a questa come a una cosa a lungo termine."

A chi domandava se anche Tekken X Street Fighter riproporrà il modello free-to-play di Tekken Revolution, Harada ha risposto sicuro: "non penso che l'intero genere stia andando in quella direzione. Ci sono dei fan che forse preferirebbero comprare una copia ed essere a posto, e giocarci tanto quanto vogliono."

Tekken X Street Fighter non è stato cancellato


Katsuhiro Harada ha confermato che Tekken X Street Fighter non è stato cancellato: il gioco è ancora in fase di sviluppo, anche se i lavori procedono a rilento, poichè in questi anni il team si è dedicato ad altri progetti come Tekken Revolution, Soulcalibur Lost Swords e l'appena annunciato Tekken 7.
Difficilmente, aggiungiamo noi, Tekken X Street Fighter uscirà su PlayStation 3 e Xbox 360, con ogni probabilità il titolo è adesso previsto per Xbox One e PlayStation 4. Al momento comunque il publisher nipponico sembra intenzionato a dare priorità al settimo episodio della saga di Tekken, mettendo momentaneamente da parte questo crossover.

Harada parla di Tekken X Street Fighter



Tekken X Street Fighter non è stato né dimenticato né cancellato: il progetto è attivo e, in base a quanto dichiarato da Katushiro Harada in persona, un team di circa quaranta persone sta lavorando sul titolo.


"E' molto difficile parlare di questo gioco, ovviamente all'inizio credevo che sarebbe stato rilasciato in tempi molto più brevi. Le ragioni dietro al rinvio sono legate al mercato che, attualmente, è saturo di picchiaduro. Cercheremo di sorprendere i giocatori, al momento non posso dare una data d'uscita."

'We have the character lineup fully decided' - Famitsu interviews Harada concerning Tekken x Street Fighter


Though it's been ages since we've heard about Tekken x Street Fighter, especially from Bandai Namco themselves, in a recent interview with Famitsu Harada insisted the project has been well underway, and is complete in a number of ways.

In the interview, they discuss the progress of the game, the reception and issues with Street Fighter x Tekken, and the problems present with trying to time Tekken x Street Fighter's release properly.

In terms of game progress, it would seem quite a bit of the game could be called complete. Harada states, "It might look like we haven't made any progress at all, but we actually have the character lineup fully decided, and polygon models, moves and the system are fully done as well."

He continues to elaborate, saying that the major problem they've faced so far is actually timing the release so it comes out at a good time. "Another reason is that Street Fighter X Tekken has already been announced, developed and released. So just doing this normally, and trying to sell it as a special crossovers, isn't going to catch any interest. We need some sort of surprise, right? I can't really say how we're aiming to surprise fans right now, but we've been playing around with many different ideas."

It would seem Harada is quite committed to the project, but they aren't really sure how to proceed, stating that they may even change the name of the game since it's been so long. He goes on to talk about Street Fighter x Tekken, saying that it was released in a moment where both 2D and 3D fighters were of high interest in the market, and if that kind of chance isn't presented it is very difficult for a "one-off" product to break into the scene.

Tekken X Street Fighter: Harada wants to surprise people with something unexpected, character lineup decided a long time ago

Bandai Namco's Katsuhiro Harada wants to bring something new to the table fans aren't expecting for Tekken X Street Fighter, the long promised entry which will pit the two fighting game franchises against each other again.

Expressing that expectations for TxSF have been built up a bit too much due to delays, Harada feels like they will need some kind of twist to draw people in.

"Tekken X Street Fighter is a game that's already been announced publicly. Just putting it out on the shelves won't be fun at all, after this long wait, so we need some sort of 'surprise'," said Harada.
Reason for the delay, Tekken X Street Fighter may end up being a working title

Harada repeated what he said previously about why Tekken X Street Fighter had been delayed — namely that it was difficult to get the game out when they had a lot of numbered titles being released.

They're facing a similar situation now with the upcoming releases of Street Fighter 5 and Tekken 7.

He added that the game known as Tekken X Street Fighter is actually just a working title, and when it's released, it may be called something different.

'Surprise' could be the reason for game's title change; character lineup and models have been completed

Some many be shocked to learn that the character lineup for TxSF was decided long ago, and the models and system are already done as well.

"It might look like we've made no progress at all, but we actually decided the character lineup quite some time ago, and we've also completed the polygon models, the moves and the game system as well," Harada stated.

Still, the game could change shape, if what Harada has in mind comes to fruition. Apparently, he's had this thought for awhile, but hasn't announced publicly what he's thinking.

"I'm not sure what will end up happening exactly, but I've had something in mind for a long time. So, we might even change the title of the game," noted Harada.

Sospeso lo sviluppo di Tekken X Street Fighter

Katsuhiro Hara, game director di Tekken, ha rivelato che per il momento è stato sospeso lo sviluppo di Tekken X Street Fighter. “Quando sviluppiamo giochi picchiaduro, cerchiamo di tenere in mente la community e il pubblico più ampio possibile” ha dichiarato Hara “Attualmente la situazione dei picchiaduro è questa: c'è Street Fighter V, che è stato appena rilasciato, con un sacco di persone che giocano, e c'è Tekken 7 in arrivo”.

“Noi non vogliamo dividere queste community, quindi per il momento è difficile trovare una buona finestra di lancio per Tekken X Street Fighter. Per il momento siamo in attesa” ha concluso Hara. Il game director ha spiegato inoltre come siano già stati conclusi i poligoni e le mosse del gioco, che potrebbe comunque essere rilasciato in un prossimo futuro.
